We conducted our last visit along the above mentioned stretch in the month of June in 2019. So immediately we decided to conduct our publicity campaign on the last phase of NH-16 in the West Bengal part on 11.01.2020. We started from Bagrabad Bazar under Belda PS and campaigned at six important crossings like Belda Bye-Pass, Salajpur, Manoharpur, Ranisarai bus stop, Rani Sorai and Shyampura from where we are getting maximum number of accident calls We came across with the local resident who expressed their satisfaction for our quick service of ambulance for rescuing accident victims. Our team displayed banners in those areas apart from local Dhaba, shops. We had a talk with Mr. Basudev Sur of NHAI ambulance service and came to know that NHAI appointed volunteers who provide First Aid to the accident victim and contact control room for their service whenever it is required. During our conversation we came to know minor accident are taking places here almost every day. Next we campaigned at three important crossings like Galai more, Angua gram and Sonakonia Check post under Dantan PS before taking a U-turn from Laxmannath Toll Plaza and campaigned on the opposite flank on our way back to the starting point. Many people in these areas have saved our helpline numbers. We reminded them to call us whenever they see highway accidents. But unfortunately they complained for lack of ambulance service in this area which we also observed and mostly dependent on NHAI service. They requested to depute a 24 X 7 ambulance at this point being a black spot on NH- 60 (new name – NH-16) We visited and checked all the sun boards in the Petrol Pumps along the entire stretch. We met around 120 people, visited 14 Hotels & Dhabas, 30 local shops and 6 Petrol Pumps.
